The level of LCS surfers is progressing rapidly from year to year

On 20th May, a 2nd competition was organised by our partner club Southend Boardrider Maroubra. 11 surfers from the sports section were present. We were glad to see 4 surfers from the sports association and 3 surfers from primary taking part in the competition. Hugo Normand finished 3rd of the cadets, Jules Leistner and Nicolas Clarens almost reached the semi-finals. The girls (Axelle Linossier, Lou Elise Guezello and Hannah Gallis), in the open women division, faced Gorgia their coach during Let's Go Surfing trainings. Coline Carbonneau made her debut in a state competition.

Another competition:
Thursday 18th and Friday 19th May, 8 students from the sports section participated in the Schools Surfing Regional Titles in Maroubra Beach. Jules Leistner was our only surfer to have been in the quarterfinals, a great performance knowing that he surfed against mostly sponsored surfers.

Surfing at the Baccalaureate?
9 students (5 boys and 4 girls) who chose the menu called "Australian" for the sports tests of the Baccalaureate were assessed on Thursday 25th May. In addition to showing their ability and also how to ride waves and do maneuvers, they also need to know how to read the ocean and beach signage as well as have a rescuer's knowledge with their surfboard.
