Documentary project on "third culture kids"

“Third Culture Kids”

Some of you may already have heard of this expression. It refers to children raised in a culture other than that of their parents for a significant part of their development years. Their “first” culture is the one from which their parents originate, the “second” culture the country in which they currently reside, and the “third” culture is the amalgamation of these two cultures.

These children are also referred to as “global nomads”, as “cultural chameleons”. Most of them attend international schools such as the Lycée Condorcet.

As a photographer I would like to document these extraordinary children, through portraits and texts, narrating their stories and experiences. Being a TCK offers a lot of benefits, but it also raises challenges. Both will be discussed through my work. Once completed, this documentary will be published online and exhibited.

I am looking for children and teenagers preferably aged 10 to 18 who have experienced at least two expatriations. Should you be interested in participating in this project, feel free contact me so we can discuss. I look forward to meeting you.

Many thanks in advance.
